The essential responsibilities of the Gas Welder Installer Meter will report to the Foreman, Industrial Meter Installation. Weld, test, repair, fit pipe and relight appliances in the installation and maintenance of commercial and industrial gas metering facilities. Prepare, position, fabricate and weld pipe and components using standardized welding processes and procedures. Cut, thread, and connect piping and components. Operate meter bypass valve or shut off valve. Re-light and adjust gas utilization equipment and inspect for proper operation. install, maintain, and adjust commercial/ industrial meters and regulating equipment. Comply with properly safety precautions. Check gas metering services for proper operations. Operate Division vehicle/ radio, truck-mounted crane, welding equipment, and enter/ retrieve data utilizing computer equipment. Perform other duties as directed.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements:
To perform the Gas Welder Installer Meters role, you must: -Must have knowledge/ skills in welding, burning, and cutting. -Must have a welder's certification from an accredited college, university, or agency. -Must successfully complete Performance/ Hands-on Exercises and Physical Abilities Test within 6 months from the date of hire. -Must successfully complete Color-Blind Test I. -Must obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's license within 6 months from the date of hire. -Have a valid Class A Commercial driver's license from state residence. -Must have a valid driver's license from state of residence.
Physical Working Conditions: Works outside majority of time. Subject to hazards of fire, explosions, asphyxiation, electrical shock, exposure to high pressure gas, working around construction, weather, heavy lifting, working in uncomfortable positions, standing and walking for extended periods and climbing ladders.
