We are currently seeking qualified individual to join our team as Welder A on 1st shift.

The ideal candidate will have experience with safety, operation efficiency and cleanliness as well as be a role model to others.

Primary Function:

To be able to perform welding and hard surfacing operations on component parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies of the most complex nature required by the Company product specified on Engineering drawings, sketches, written or oral instructions to meet code criteria in accordance with Velan Q.A. program utilizing all types of welding equipment to maximum efficiency within maximum safety conditions with minimum supervision.

Job Requirements:

Minimum three years of experience on all types of manual or hard surfacing processes or experience as a Welder 'B' with proven ability to work as a Welder 'A' on A l....of the following welding processes at an acceptable pace and with a minimal rejection rate.
Must be able to qualify and have a good knowledge of the following welding processes. Manual GTAW, SMAW and GMAW.

Description of work:

Set-up and operate all manual and automatic welding equipment to produce work of acceptable quality at an accepted pace.
Read and understand Engineering drawings, shop orders, or special instructions and perform tasks as described in these instructions using appropriate procedures and techniques.
Check and control tolerances and special requirements of first piece to be accepted by inspection and continue producing with periodical checks on dimensions and drawing conformance to ensure a zero-rejection rate.
Complete all required paperwork as specified by Velan Q.A. program and or supervisor. Welders are required to always practice good safety habits, maintain good housekeeping in work area and perform simple maintenance on welding equipment.

Occasional medium to heavy effort may be required.
May be required to have personal hand tools available as required for the job.
