Job Title:Welder (Structural / Pipe)
Location: North Slope – Travel Required
Reports to: Site Superintendent
Salary Range: $40 - $50 Hourly DOE – CONTINGENT ON PASSING WELD TEST
Schedule: 4x1 Rotation – 7 / 12 Hour days

What You Will Do:
This is a multi-purpose all around welder who reports to the foremen for the scope of work to be done. This is a non-pipe welding position which is required to weld mostly plate or flat surfaces with a combination of non-tested pipe materials together, like tubing for catwalks and structural steel fabrication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Generally responsible for all phases of structural steel fabrication per industry codes and standards.
Must properly identify and apply material grades, standards structural shapes, terminology and connections.
Performs welding of metal components for fabrication of machine parts, plant equipment and structure according to layout, blueprints or work orders using a variety of gas welding equipment.
Determines common bolt and appropriate wrench sizes.
Possess and apply basic mechanical skills, and safely work with hand tools.
Applies basic mathematical skills in making calculations.
Must follow safe-out procedures and recognizes hazards on the job.
Applies safe basic rigging skills.
Must be able to set up and operate a 9” grinder
Must be able to operate an oxy-acetylene torch.
Maintain a current certification for SMAW welding.
Complies with all safety policies and the applicable safety handbooks, leads and educates fellow employees in safe work ethics, practices and behaviors.

What You Will Need (minimum qualifications):

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience: Welding experience.
Minimum of 1 year of structural welding.
Previous experience in an artic environment preferred.
Must possess knowledge of all around welding skills and organizational practices.
Must be able to read blueprints and be motivated on the job.
Continued training an education to up grade trade skills is highly encouraged.
Must be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
Must hold the proper certification.
North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC), required.
Valid Driver’s License

Take and pass a pre-employment drug test.
